This review deals with lanthanoid mediated organic reactions investigated by the authors. The scope of the lanthanoid‐mediated reactions are discussed under the following topics: Reactions of Yb metal umpoled diaryl ketones with electrophiles; Reactions of Yb metal with imines; Reactions of Yb metal with CC multiple bonds; Reactions of Sm metal with nitroarenes; Reactions of Yb metal with α,β‐unsaturated carbonyl compounds; Reactions of a PhYbI σ‐complex; Reactions of LnCl3 as Friedel‐Crafts catalyst.
