The influence of a Coriolis mixing on the properties of (167,169,171,173)yb has been studied using the quasiparticle-phonon model. This study is based on the experimental results obtained by low-temperature nuclear orientation of (167,169,171,173)LU in Gd. It appeared that the Coriolis mixing is very important for the even-parity states arising from the i(13/2) subshell and for interband transitions in odd (167-173)yb. The mixing subshell and for interband transitions in odd ratio sign change for intraband transitions was observed when going from Yb-169 to Yb-171, and the Coriolis mixing is very weak in this case.
