摘要：

The author asks whether the relationship between the generations could dangerously deteriorate. Two aspects emerge. First: the elderly have increasingly become recipients of goods and services. This presents the danger that age will be perceived mainly as a problem of supply - and ultimately as one of ''disposal''. Second: the dramatic demographic upheaval is turning the elderly into a mass phenomenon. The author outlines the economic, political and ecological consequences for the generation alliance.
