摘要
In this article we discuss the epistemological status of historical, knowledge taking the privileged object of reflection the theoretical perspectives about the historical narrative and its conditioning/unfolding defended by the French historian Paul Veyne and the American theorist Hayden White. The comparison of the views of Veyne and White allows the understanding that, although they are close theoretically, they have divergences worthy of prominence, mainly because unifying interpretations elided them and, at the same time, obscured their potential contribution to the debate on the creative/fictional dimension of the craft of the historian.
