Eating Attitude Test (EAT-26) in a population of 1809 students in high schools in the province of L'Aquila

Eating disorders are a growing problem in the Western world. This research consists in an epidemiological study obtained by the administration of Eating Attitude Test-26 in a population of 1809 students from the main middle and high schools in the city of L'Aquila. The 6.5% of subjects (112) showed scores above the cutoff EAT-26 > 20, where 1.7% were male and 4.7% females with a significant difference between the sexes (p > 0,001). The data supports previous studies of literature and confirms the usefulness of the evaluation screening for adolescents at risk for eating disorders.
