摘要：
Fluorescein was administered in hypotonic aqueous and viscous solutions as eye-drops to volunteers in two age groups. The fluorescein concentration was measured in samples of tear fluid taken at regular intervals after administration. The results show that the concentration can temporarily become much higher than that in the original eye-drop, which is ascribed to the osmotic gradient between the applied eye-drop and the surrounding tissues of the eye. Specific application of this observation in therapy is suggested. © 1979 S. Karger AG, Basel.
