摘要
The physico-chemical and catalytic properties of alumina exposed to ZrCl4 vapour have been studied. It was found that ZrCl4 reacts with both basic surface OH groups and exposed O2- ions forming Lewis superacid centres as well as Bronsted acid sites. The mechanism of n-pentane low-temperature isomerization involving H- abstraction from the alkane has been postulated.
