摘要
The effect of an inert second phase on microstructural development and superconducting properties has been studied in order to improve the J(c) value under magnetic field. 100 Angstrom MgO particles were homogeneously mixed with the Bi-2223 phase using planetary ball milling and ultrasonification. The reaction sequence has been traced using X-ray diffraction technique and microstructural development has been studied using SEM and EPMA. Homogeneous distribution of MgO grains in Bi-2223 phase led to the Increase in J(c) under magnetic field possibly due to the introduction of flux pinning sites.
