摘要
The main purpose of this this article is to understand the attention and importance that is increasingly being given to memory and cultural heritage in the construction of the quilombola identity claimed by the communities in the Iguape Valley and Basin, in the municipality of Cachoeira, state of Bahia. This issue is analysed from the point of view of an anthropology of heritage, initially seeking to understand and explain the main aspects of the revaluation process and how this has been appropriated for the reconstruction of the past and elaboration of a differentiated present.
