摘要：

The objective of this paper was to identify and understand the media coverage present in news coverage by Jornal Nacional and Jornal da Record on soccer player Neymar's injury during the 2014 World Cup games in Brazil. First, a systematic observation was carried out on the event broadcasted on Jornal Nacional and Jornal da Record TV news broadcasts, which dealt with the same fact by content analysis of these TV news programs. The result of the analysis indicated the technological influences in the production and broadcasting of televised news programs, as well as how media transformed a sports fact into a social event.
