A technique for enumerating and counting the number of two- and three-way tables which satisfy polynomial conjoint measurement test and additivity tests is presented. The counting technique reveals that the number of tables which satisfy all the constraints is very small relative to the number or possible tables. © 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
