Through metallurgical process research, texture improvements in view of the preferential {100}[001] orientation remains the last way to reach high magnetic performances in electrical steels. The influence of the hot working process on the final properties is presented here and provides evidence that the more the hot working lies in the ferritic temperature range, the stronger is the roughly {100}[001] component, probably resulting from the minor texture component {111}[112] inherited from hot rolling at a low temperature. Optimization of cold rolling and final annealing is shown to be very important in obtaining a cube texture. The variations in the magnetic anisotropy torque peaks and texture changes are perfectly correlated with magnetic measurements.
