摘要
No inhaled anaesthetic agent available matches the profile of the 'ideal volatile agent'. This review describes the three agents currently in use in everyday clinical practice (halothane, enflurane and isoflurane) by way of comparing them with the ideal, and then discusses the two newer agents, sevoflurane and desflurane.
