Pulmonary aspergillosis in renal transplant recipient: case report

Background: We present the radiological findings of pulmonary aspergillosis in a patient who had received a renal transplant, this being a case of proven pulmonary aspergillosis in an immunocompromised person. Posteroanterior chest radiography and lateral chest radiography were done several times over two weeks. CT was done before diagnosis was established and followed up after two months of treatment. Case Report: X-rays showed a few coin lesions in the right lung. CT suggested metastases in both lungs. Invasive exploratory methods such as bronchoscopy and thoracotomy were recommended. Open lung biopsy confirmed the diagnosis. Results: We observed atypical radiological and clinical symptoms. The final diagnosis was based on a combination of radiological, clinical, microbiological, and invasive methods.
