摘要
Ahmad Zarruq who was born in Fez at 846/1442 learned in Fez, Tlemcen, Algeria, Tunis, Cairo and Hijaz. He attracted to sufizm after completed his speciality in fiqh, Islamic theology, hadith, Arabic grammar and tafsir. The men who directed him in sufism and exerted an immense influence upon him were Abu Abdallah Muhammad b. Abdallah al Zaituni and Ahmad Ibn 'Uqbah al Hadrami who are shaikhs of Shadhili Order. Zarruq served in Maghrib and especially Misurata as caliph of Hadrami. He died in Misurata at 899/1493. The large number of Works that Zarruq has left and the variety that is evident in them indicate that he was a very active writer during his comparatively short life. He educated his students and disciples. He fighted all bidah and revived the sunnah during his life. He studied in struggle between mind and body and purification of heart.
