APPLICATION OF LINEAR DECOMPOSITION TECHNIQUE IN RELIABILITY-BASED STRUCTURAL OPTIMIZATION

摘要
In this paper the possibility of using a decomposition approach for reliability-based structural optimization problems is investigated. One specific method, namely the Linear Decomposition Method by Sobieszczanski-Sobieski is considered. The method is tested on plane frames with H-beams loaded with concentrated forces and moments to demonstrate the applicability of the method, and it is compared to a traditional SQP algorithm. It is shown that the Linear Decomposition Method with advantage can be applied to problems within the area of reliability-based structural optimization.
