Theory of Excimer Lamps Pumped by Pulsed Self-Sustained Discharges

摘要
A kinetic model of Xe(2)* (172 nm) and Ar(2)* (126 nm) fluorescence in a pulsed self-sustained discharge is proposed. ne model includes the joint solution of equations for the ion-molecular kinetics, the Boltzmann equation, and equations for the external discharge circuit. Test calculations with fast electron beam pumping were made to examine our kinetic model. The results of calculations indicate the possibility of obtaining fluorescence efficiency greater than 50%, and output energy of congruent to 30 J/(1 atm) for Ar and congruent to 45 J/(1 atm) for Xe. High efficiency is observed for a wide range of pressures.
