摘要
Objective: To analyze long-term survival and the risk factors associated with long-term survival of patients undergoing isolated coronary surgery. Patients: Patients aged >17 years undergoing isolated coronary surgery from November 2002 to December 2009 were analyzed. Patients discharged alive from hospital were followed until December 31, 2011. The information was provided by the Spanish National Institute of Death. The 30-day mortality and mortality at the end of the follow up period were calculated. Kaplan-Meier survival curves were constructed and Cox regression analysis was performed to determine risk factors associated with long-term mortality. Results: Mean age of the 1.162 patients included was 64 +/- 11,3 years. 30-day mortality was 1,1% (CI 95%: 0,48 - 1,77). At the end of the follow up, mortality was 8%. The risk factors associated with long-term survival were: age >= 70 years, preoperative anemia, peripheral arterial disease, COPD, red blood cell transfusion and postoperative acute kidney injury. Patients aged >= 70 years showed a lower 5-year survival rate than those aged <70 (85% vs 94%, p < 0,0001). Conclusions: Patients undergoing isolated coronary surgery had a low 30-day mortality and 5-year mortality. Prediction of long-term survival is associated with preoperative and postoperative risk factors.
