Travel, experience and landscape. The route Puntarenas - San Jose in the stories of foreigners (Costa Rica, 1840-1880)

The article analyzes, from an interdisciplinary perspective, the route that connects the port of Puntarenas and the city of San Jose from the experiences of the travelers who visited through Costa Rica during 1840 and 1880. Emphasizes the material, technological and sensitive dimensions that conditioned the transits to the capital. For this, the travel landscape experiences are conceptualized. The literature of foreign travelers were, in correspondence with the romantic writings, important documents to understand the relationships between travel, experience and landscape that involve stories, movements, corporalities and encounters.
