摘要
One-dimensional field equations of a homogeneous, isotropic micropolar elastic medium are obtained under the assumption of weak nonlinearity. Nonlinear modulation of longitudinal plane waves propagating in such an infinite medium is investigated. Using the reductive perturbation method, it is shown that the slowly varying complex amplitude of the longitudinal microrotation wave is described by the Nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation. Some special solutions of the NLS equation, namely, nonlinear plane wave, solitary wave and phase jump solutions, are given. The modulational instability of the plane wave solution is also discussed.
