OFFICE OF CAREER SERVICES OF THE FACULTY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES AT HARVARD UNIVERSITY ELECTRONIC SERVICES FOR STUDENTS AND INNOVATIVE PRACTICES

This paper follows the best practices in the work of the Office of Career Services, Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. The study is mainly based on observations and interviews with experts from the office, held personally on the spot at Harvard University during a training in March 2013. Some additional services that a modern university career center is able to provide for the students/alumni are also included in the paper, and so are the online systems and networks that are becoming more and more important in the work of the career services. The article includes examples of good practices with low financial cost, which could be easily integrated in the Bulgarian university career centers. The study is entirely practical and aims to be useful for practitioners-career counselors and heads of career centers by providing them with useful and interesting tips, and introducing them to the methods and systems used by the career service of one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
