摘要：

The first section deals with steam turbine generators in France. Typical features of two large tandem compound turbines and a series of nuclear units are described. In the second part, improvements in hydro-electric generator design, including large vertical shaft machines, bulb-type units and reversible motor-generators for pumped storage schemes, are described.
