摘要
The research attempts to capture, organise, and prioritise experiences relating to performance measurement from top management at three Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand. Its primary outputs are a set of baseline Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for SMEs when implementing the balanced scorecard with the prioritised business circumstances regularly facing SME management. This research is based on a need to address a lack of quality information that potentially impacts the quality of managerial decisions. For this research, there are a total of 38 KPIs with five key business circumstances constantly facing top executives of SMEs. The data-collection for this research can be separated into two stages. The first stage was for the frequency of KPIs requested during January-December 2005 while the second stage was for the verification of the proposed taxonomy from January to June 2006. The research's benefits and limitations are discussed.
