LEARNING ON SOCIAL POLICIES AND SOCIAL INTERVENTION FOR ELDERCARE. THE CASE OF THE ADULT HEALTH CARE (PADAM) AT HOGAR DE CRISTO

This article aims to identify learning processes at the level of construction of programmatic care initiatives with respect to guiding principles and methodological aspects for social policies and intervention directed to the home care of elderly people and those who carry out this work. Methodologically, the article reviews the case of the Home Eldercare Program (Spanish acronym PADAM) carried out by Hogar de Cristo Foundation, through documentary research. Some conclusions show that programmatic care initiatives should consider the needs of both the elderly people receiving care and those who work as caregivers. Likewise, any right-based care initiative should define minimum benefits with intervention subjects, who need to be constantly updated in order to move towards a constant pursuit of maximum levels of care provision.
