This article examines the modern dance technique created by Nina Verchinina. Some aspects and combinations from the classes that she developed are used as reference points: the barre; the floor and center exercises; her classes for the knee and her combinations of falls. By elaborating on the body through dance and in the scenic space, Verchinina created means to extend the expressive possibilities of the body.
