INFLUENCE OF SINTERING CONDITIONS ON ISOTHERMAL AUSTENITE DECOMPOSITION IN POWDER-ROUTE STEELS

摘要
An investigation was made of features of isothermal decomposition of austenite in powder-route steels PA-ZhGrD and PK100G produced from powder components by mixing, compaction at 600 MPa, and sintering at 1150-1200-degrees-C for 2 h. Sintering in a non-flowing atmosphere is accompanied by the appearance of a coarse cementite network and graphite inclusions in the structure of the powder steel, helping to initiate supercooled austenite decomposition and reducing its incubation period. Assessment of the influence of strengthening heat treatment on the properties of PA-ZhGrD steel makes it possible to recommend oil quenching from 860-degrees-C and tempering at 300-degrees-C.
