摘要:
Successive approximation converters have the disadvantage of great differential and integral nonlinearities (DNL, INL) due to their mode of operation. This prevents the realisation of high resolution s.a. converters without missing codes. The presented error correction procedure allows the reduction of DNL and INL in addition to the removal of missing codes. Condition for the application of the error correction procedure is a parallel or serial data port that is transparent during the conversion process of the analog-digital converter (ADC). Besides linearisation, a nearly arbitrary ADC characteristic can be realized.
