摘要
Rocket-borne spectrometers have been used to examine the spectrum of the daytime airglow in the region from 6000 to 11,500 Å. In addition to the previously observed features, a number of fainter emissions have been observed. These are the 2-0 band and the 1-0 sequence of the Meinel system of N2+ at 7875 and 9212 Å respectively, the atomic oxygen emissions at 7774 and 8446 Å, and what appears to be the 1-0 band of the first positive system of N2 at about 8850 Å. The intensity ratio of the first to second positive systems in the dayglow was estimated and found to be an order of magnitude lower than the auroral ratio. Upper limits on the emission rates of other features not clearly present are also given. © 1969.
