摘要
Evidence that the fully energy-damped binary products observed in the O-18+B-10, B-11 reactions originate from a fusion-fission process, rather than through a deep-inelastic orbiting mechanism, is presented. The relative importance of the fusion-fission process in these very light systems is supported by experimental results that indicate a statistically equilibrated fission process and also by model calculations. This conclusion is contrary to that reached in a recent publication discussing the same data.
