Endometriosis is a common gynecological condition affecting 10 to 15% of the female population and is defined by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus containing both glands and stroma. The incidence of digestive endometriosis ranges from 3.7% to over 30% of patients with endometriosis. Medical treatment is often ineffective with suspensive effect justifying the use of laparoscopic surgery. Laparotomy conversion rate is estimated to 7.8% for the segmental resection Major complications were observed in approximately 9% of cases including recto-vaginal fistula, dehiscence of the suture or need for secondary colostomy. In addition, there is a risk for de novo dysuria. Laparoscopic colorectal resection for endometriosis improves significantly both the symptoms and quality of life of patients and fertility.
