PRECURSOR VACUUM ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION IN A T-TYPE SHOCK TUBE

摘要
Using a small bore (1.5 cm) T tube, measurements have been made of the flux of vacuum ultraviolet radiation along the axis of the expansion tube. These measurements coupled with measurements of the precursor emission in the line He I 5876 Å indicate that ionizing radiation does not contribute significantly to precursor ionization and excitation.
