摘要
The efficiency of piperylene quenching of phosphorescence and delayed emission of different molecular weight samples of poly(2-vinylnaphthalene) is shown to increase with molecular weight. We interprete this finding as demonstrating that increasing the polymer length allows a triplet exciton more opportunities to encounter a quencher until the polymer length exceeds the exciton diffusion length (approximately 700 chromophores for poly(2-vinylnaphthalene)). All experiments reported are for 1:1 THF-Et2O matrices at 77 K. © 1978, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
