摘要：
Clay minerals are attracting attention as sorbents and catalysts in the area of immobilization and detoxification of hazardous substances. The nature of the interactions occurring between organic compounds and clay minerals is reviewed. Factors which enhance the adsorptive properties of clays and conditions which promote chemical transformations of adsorbed organic molecules are discussed.
