摘要
This article's purpose is to realize an approach to the military regimes of Venezuela and Colombia during the fifties in what refers to their external affairs agenda, the objective is to compare their purposes and strategies developed under the ideals of the military nationalism or pretorianism and the implementation of anticommunist contention policies, during the Cold War. It will not be sufficient for this text to make a list about the concrete events of the governments in their international policies but also to define their behaviour in a moment of great international tension and the need to achieve the geopolitical objectives defined as vital for this states. At the same time, it will be important to analyze the variables that make the differences between the agendas related to their particular economical potentials and their relative political autonomy, referring to the development of national policies conduced to the consolidation of a capitalism of state and military empowerment.
