2-PHOTON ABSORPTION SERIES OF CALCIUM

摘要
Laser spectroscopy of calcium using two-photon absorption has produced the high Rydberg states of the 4nsn S-0(1) and 4snd D-2(1) F-3(1) series. The spectra recorded S-0(1) states up to n = 35 while the nd D-2(1) transitions are extended to n = 86. A new series tentatively assigned as 4snf F-3(1) has been resolved up to n = 58. Comparison of the experimental values with the calculated values based on the multichannel quantum-defect theory developed by previous investigators has been presented.
