RESPONSE OF GROWTH AND YIELD OF ZEA MAIZE FOR FOLIAR SPRAYINGWITH HUMIC ACID

A field was carried out in the field of experiments college of Agriculture, University of Baghdad, Jadriya at spring and autumn seasons 2016 in order to study the response of growth and yield of maize (5018 var.) of humic acid foliar spraying. It was carried out according to the Complete Randomised Block Design with three replicates, included four concentration (1, 2, 3, 4) mlL(-1) in addition to control treatment which sprinkled with water only. The acid was sprayed at stage of 12 leaf. The results of experiment showed that humic acid was affected in most of growth, yield and physiological traits, so 2 mlL(-1) concentration in spring season and 3 mlL(-1) concentration in autumn season gave heights of average for this traits and increased ratio in plant yield was 39.03% and 19.30% respectively compared with control treatment. We can conclude from this study that foliar spraying with humic acid and concentrations 2 and 3 mlL(-1) led to the increase to most of the characteristics of growth and yield.
