ployed to prepare Fe/gamma-Al2O3, Fe/SiO2, Co/gamma-Al2O3, Co/SiO2, Ni/gamma-Al2O3 and Ni/SiO2, catalysts. The results of TEM, XRD and H-2, chemisorption measurements showed that the average particle dimensions of Fe, Co, Ni in the catalysts were <30A and the dispersions of the metals were >50%. The catalytic behavior of Fe/gamma-Al2O3Co/gamma-Al2O3 and Ni/gamma-Al2O3 for CO+ H-2 reaction was studied. Hydrocarbon product distributions and specific activities were determined. It showed that,as the H-2/CO ratio and reaction temperature increased, the percentage yield of higher molecular weight molecules decreased and methane formation was favored. The specific activities of these catalysts was in the order as Fe>Ni>Co.
