摘要：

The article deals with the language education of students as a means of social and cultural development; coverage of social and cultural components of formation of the individual, such as: the ability to communicate, personal information level, individual information field, linguistic competence. It presents the conclusions drawn from the experimental work on the formation of the language competence of students in the social and cultural environment of the university.
