The effect of unresolved quadrupole splitting of the observed peak position in Mossbauer spectroscopy

摘要
Unresolved quadrupole splitting can affect the peak position in Mossbauer spectra involving nuclear transitions other than those between I=1/2 and Z=3/2. The magnitude of this effect has been calculated for the 5/2 to 7/2 transition in Eu-151, and shown to be up to 0.5 mm sec(-1).
