摘要
Glucosamine treatment can completely inhibit replication of genome-size vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) RNA while transcription of viral mRNA is unaffected or stimulated. This inhibition is a function of drug concentration and duration of treatment and is dependent on the type of host cell. It has been shown that UTP pool depletion is not the cause of the inhibition of replication. Furthermore it has been found that glucosamine treatment selectively inhibits viral protein synthesis, whereas host protein synthesis is relatively unaffected. The extent of viral protein synthesis inhibition is dependent on drug concentration, duration of treatment, and type of host cell. © 1979.
