摘要
The Spanish Society of Thoracic-Cardiovascular Surgery presents the results of activity in cardiovascular surgery in 2014 based on a voluntary and anonymous registration involving 58 centres. A total of 33,807 procedures (range 36-2,153) were performed, of which 56.33% were performed with extracorporeal circulation. The acquired pathology represented 93.75%. The most frequently performed procedure was isolated valve surgery (26.5% of all surgical activity), with a steady increase. Another year coronary surgery remained stable (4,949 cases). Aortic surgery continues increasing: 2,023 patients were intervened, annual increase of 18.44%. 73.1% of centres reported their preoperative surgical risk-adjusted data (EuroScore I/II or Aristotle Score). The results in terms of observed vs. expected mortality are excellent, and below in nearly all groups of pathologies. This is the year with the highest participation of centres since the activity registration started in 1984 and the year in which the degree of completion has been the highest. A detailed analysis of the data is extremely useful for us to further improve the results of surgical treatment of cardiovascular disease.
