摘要
Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most frequent malignant bone tumor in children. Although technologic development, there are no prognostic factors, as in other neoplasms, that help to take decisions and classify patients at diagnosis. Actually, tumor necrosis after chemotherapy is the most important prognostic factor. This is why studies focus on a diagnostic instrument that allows predicting this necrosis before surgery. Magnetic resonance imaging is a valuable method for necrosis assesment as a chemotherapy response before surgery. We need research which consider this diagnostic instrument in order to have valid and extrapolable information to treat these patients who have a non favorable prognosis.
