THE USE OF SMOOTH BENDING MOMENT MODES IN HELICOPTER ROTOR BLADE VIBRATION STUDIES

摘要
The application of a special type of assumed mode in problems of helicopter rotor blade vibration is described. These assumed modes thus have a smoothly varying bending moment distribution, as actually occurs on the rotor blade. Similar types of assumed mode are used to represent twisting motion. Natural frequencies and normal mode shapes for a rotating helicopter rotor blade are evaluated by using these special assumed modes. The results are seen to compare favorably with results obtained more conventionally and with a more detailed mathematical model.
