摘要
The presence of the ciliate Tetrahymena thermophila was studied in relation with the efficiency of the disposal process in an activated-sludge sewage treatment plant. Stepwise Discriminant Analysis (Dixon, 1989) was applied to physico-chemical and biological variables in order to classify days with good or regular efficiency in the disposal process according to the abundance of T. thermophila in aeration tanks. The results indicate that the ciliate T. thermophila may be a useful organism in the prediction of plant performance.
