A description is presented of the Prototype Fast Reactor power station at Dounreay is a sodium cooled fast breeder nuclear reactor designed to supply 250 MW(e) to the North of Scotland Hydro Electric Board grid system. A simulator was ordered in February, 1971, was completed April, 1973, and is now undergoing final acceptance tests on site.
