To investigate a relationship between internal vs. external control and ethnic group membership, 3 groups of high school Ss (Chinese, American-born Chinese, and Anglo-American) were compared in their responses to the Internal-External Control Scale. A hypothesis that a belief in internal vs. external control is significantly related to ethnic group membership was confirmed.
