摘要：

The emergence of multiple drug resistant Salmonella typhi has made new treatments necessary. Short term treatments with third-generation cephalosporins or fluoroquinolones have been successfully evaluated. These antimicrobial agents are effective in non typhoid salmonellosis with extradigestive localisation. In salmonella enterocolitis quinolones unlike other antimicrobial agents may shorten the duration of diarrhea.
