BUCKLING AND VIBRATION OF COMPOSITE PLATES USING THE LEVY METHOD

摘要
An analytical study is conducted to determine the stability and vibration characteristics of laminated cross-ply plates using the Levy approach. Included in the plate model are the effects of shear deformation and rotary inertia. Several different boundary conditions in the y-direction are analyzed in conjunction with simply supported boundaries in the x-direction. The y-directed boundaries considered are simple-simple, simple-free, clamped-free and free-free. Solutions are presented for the buckling loads and fundamental frequencies of rectangular, graphite-epoxy plates with a symmetrical ply layup. The results indicate the importance of including transverse effects in a plate's mathematical model. © 1990.
