摘要
Ever faster technical developments at ever shorter intervals result in changes in occupational requirements and hence in the adaptation of occupational qualifications. This is why continuing vocational education is becoming increasingly important. There are many plans and programmes for what is called "Qualifizierungsoffensive" in Germany. But little is known about the needs and the demand for qualifications of employees and the factors influencing their interest in continuing education. The authors present a selection of results of a panel study on this topic. In particular they examine what impact experiences of apprentices have on their interest and willingness to acquire and use information technology qualifications, and in what way the differences in continuing vocational education are dependent on the conditions of training they receive in the various companies.
