摘要
This paper deals with the repression by various nitrogen compounds of two enzymes of the arginine-degrading pathway in baker's yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), viz. arginase (l-arginine ureohydrolase, EC 3.5.3.1) and ornithine transaminase (l-ornithine:2-oxoacid aminotransferase, EC 2.6.1.13). It is demonstrated that this repression ie exerted only in the presence of myo-inositol, an essential growth factor for the yeast strain studied. © 1969.
